Portland bridge lifts for Rose Festival Fleet expected to cause traffic, TriMet delays
Tradition will cause some traffic jams in downtown Portland today and Thursday.
The arrival of naval vessels comprising this year’s Rose Festival Fleet will cause periodic delays for drivers, TriMet riders and bicycle commuters.Between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. today, the Broadway, Steel, Burnside and Morrison bridges will be lifted for up to 20 minutes to allow ships from U.S. Navy, U.S. Coast Guard and the Canadian Maritime Forces to dock along Tom McCall Waterfront Park through the weekend.On Thursday, fleet arrivals will take place between between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Thursday,June 9, due to Rose Festival fleet arrivals.
