But this time, the 2011 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport not only managed thousands of people to participate in the online test drive but also, has managed to grab one of the prestigious- ‘Guinness world record awards’ for being the farthest drive by an online controlled vehicle in 24 hours! We at Town and Country Mitsubishi the leading Mitsubishi dealer in Oregon are proud to be associated with this rare feat.

Although the car is featured with high tech standard and marginally priced, the reason to get honored with this prestigious award turned out to be different and impressive. For about Ten days starting from 1st November 2010 to 10th November 2010, thousands of people participated in the Mitsubishi live drive event steering the remote controlled 2011 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport around a course in South California using their Keyboards to control the vehicle in real time. As mentioned before, it was the worlds first online test drive experimented.

This innovative method of online test drive attracted the officials at Guinness and they sent judges to observe the event. By 9th November 2010, the outlander sport logged 91 miles which was driven by people who were hundreds and thousands miles away. It was not too long before the Outlander sport made its name in the Guinness book of records, as the ‘Farthest drive by an online controlled vehicle in 24 hours’

Indeed, it was the cumulative effort of people who participated in the online test drive and Mitsubishis effort on the initiation of such an event, which has resulted in making its mark in such prestigious awards list.
